Onion Sauce

 
Onions 5-6
Vegetable oil ormargarine 3 tbsp
Milk 2 cups
Flour 4 tbsp
Butter 1 tbsp
Pepper, bay leaf,sugar and salt to taste
 

Chop the onions fine, brown in the vegetable oil or margarine, add the flour, and, stirring unhurriedly, pour in the milk. Boil for 10Ч15 minutes. You can add some black pepper,1 bay leaf, sugar, and salt. Strain the sauce and add the butter. The sauce can be used for baking vegetable dishes.
